Three Stone Buildings
These three buildings, built in the late 1890’s housed the original cistern and pumps for Denver’s first water system. Denver Water Board’s project called for the buildings to be converted into a medical clinic, a museum, and a meeting room.
In order to match the native rhyolite stone, it was necessary to reopen the quarry in Castle Rock, Colorado from which the original stone was cut. In addition to the complete restoration of the stonework, new metal roofs, new arched windows, and skylights were added. |
